NBA Trade Deadline priority: Commit and make a move 

The Atlanta Hawks have been quite disappointing this season but that doesn’t mean they’re not on the right track. For now, though, it’s huge that they figure out who the core foundational pieces of this team are.

Of course, one is Trae Young. After that, who on this roster is absolutely off the table? If that’s not John Collins, then perhaps it’s in the best interest of the Hawks to explore a trade for him at the deadline and try to retool the roster.

It’s clear that the Hawks aren’t in a place where they’re going to be a contender this season and that perhaps last year’s playoff run was more of a right place, right time. The Hawks need to commit to a core and run with it.
