Underrated trade candidates: Alec Burks, G, New York Knicks

2021-22 Stats: 11.0 PTS, 4.3 REB, 2.6 AST, 1.2 STL, 0.2 BLK, 38.0 FG%, 39.2 3PT%

After being the biggest surprise in the NBA last year, the New York Knicks have struggled to capture the same success this season. The Knicks sit at a measly 23-27 which is good for 12th in the Eastern Conference and in a recent report, the Knicks are gonna look to move some of their veteran pieces in order to open up playing time for guys like Cam Reddish, Quentin Grimes, and Miles McBride.

Alec Burks is a solid vet who can provide some shooting, as well as a little bit of playmaking off the bench. Burks isn’t a bad defender either, having an above-average defensive rating of 109.0. Burks just simply doesn’t fit the Knicks timeline anymore as they have younger guys who can do a lot of the same things that Burks does for the Knicks.

Burks signed a 3-year, $30 million dollar contract with the Knicks last summer. Expect interest from teams that need some bench scoring. Perhaps the Suns or the Hornets.
