NBA Trade Rumors: Should the New York Knicks make a move for the former MVP?

The New York Knicks find themselves in an interesting position. With a record of 24-28 at the time I’m writing this, the Knicks currently stand at 12th in the Eastern Conference. A lot of things have gone wrong this year including star player Julius Randle regressing heavily. Currently, the Knicks are without a true first option, ranking bottom 5 in the league in points per game.

The Knicks also find themselves without a true point guard. Derrick Rose, Jarrett Jack, Emmanuel Mudiay, Elfrid Payton. The Knicks have had a revolving door at arguably the most important position in the game. This has led to a lack of cohesion and chemistry as it seems like a new guy is running the offense every night.

This begs the question, should the Knicks trade for Russell Westbrook? 

As a Knicks fan myself, I will tell you that this is a very debated topic within our community. Some people believe that we’re in win-now mode and a move like this is necessary to put the Knicks back in the playoff picture.

Others will argue that this will do just the opposite, stating that Westbrook’s best days are behind him, and giving up assets for a guy who won’t help the team in the long-term makes no sense.
