What will be the biggest surprise of the NBA Trade Deadline?

Saenz: I believe that the Dallas Mavericks are going to trade for John Collins. Luka Doncic finally gets his running mate and the Mavs will emerge as a true threat in the Western Conference.

Knitzer: Washington Wizards go all-in. They probably shouldn’t, but if they were going to trade Bradley Beal, they missed their golden window of opportunity and now must woo him into resigning by consolidating several good rotation players and picks for Domantas Sabonis or Jerami Grant.

Bernal: Jerami Grant will remain in Detroit. Speaking of Mr. Grant, after spending the better part of the last six months as the player most likely to get traded, the deadline will come and go without Grant moving addresses.

While Grant doesn’t fit perfectly with the Pistons’ timeline given his age, it’s easy to forget that his ability off the dribble, and superb defensive awareness make him a valuable player to have around no matter the situation. What’s more, his trade value will undoubtedly increase by the time the offseason rolls around, and he sheds another year off his current contract. He’ll eventually be dealt, but it won’t be before Thursday.
