NBA Trade Deadline bold prediction No. 3: The Miami Heat will trade Duncan Robinson

It’ll be interesting to see what the Miami Heat elects to do at the NBA Trade Deadline. They’re in an interesting spot. They are going to be in the running for the top seed in the Eastern Conference with the unknown that is Victor Oladipo set to return.

One element that has surprisingly given the Heat some extra flexibility is the emergence of Max Strus. And some could view it as making Duncan Robinson somewhat expendable. For comparison, Robinson is averaging 12 points and three rebounds per game on 40 percent shooting from the field and 36 percent shooting from 3-point range.

Strus is averaging 11 points and three rebounds on 45 percent shooting from the field and 41 percent shooting from 3-point range. Not to mention, Strus is making considerably less money per year.

If the Heat wanted to find a way for some financial flexibility, trading Robinson wouldn’t be the worst possible avenue.
