Portland Trail Blazers trade grade: C
Honestly, it’s tough to love this trade from the Blazers’ perspective. Sure, Josh Hart is a solid rotation player and Nickeil Alexander-Walker has a chance to develop into a good player down the line, but, if anything, this trade brings bout more questions than answers for Portland.
The Blazers did not get better (maybe that first-round pick ends up being a really good player, but that’s no guarantee) with this deal and it only adds to the confusion after the trade that they pulled off last week. A retooling of the roster wasn’t unexpected at the deadline for the Blazers.
However, the two deals that the Blazers have made over the past few days are truly difficult to understand. All that’s clear is that the Blazers absolutely must have a plan for the offseason. If not, the last week of moves is going to be a tough sell to their fans.
