NBA Rumors: Dillon Brooks set to return for the Grizzlies next week
NBA Rumors: Dillon Brooks is set to return to the Memphis Grizzlies lineup next week.
The Memphis Grizzlies have been one of the most surprising teams in the Western Conference this season and have high hopes of making a deep run in the playoffs.
Led by the excellent play of Ja Morant, the Grizzlies have taken a huge step forward as a franchise this season. The next step is now translating their success thus far into winning a playoff series or two.
And in an attempt to do that, they’re going to get some reinforcements. According to a recent report, Dillon Brooks is set to return to the team’s lineup soon.
The Grizzlies are set to go on a four-game road trip that will extend through next week. That means his return is just days away and the Grizzlies are set to get a major shot in the arm for the playoff push.
Brooks has struggled with injuries this season and has only played in 21 games this season. Still, in those games, he’s been extremely productive for the team. In the games he’s played in, Brooks is averaging 18 points on 43 percent shooting from the field.
When reinserted back into the lineup, the hope is that he can continue to be that productive for a team that has really hit its stride this season. Morant is playing like an MVP candidate and will likely finish in the top 3 of voting.
As for the team, the Grizzlies are on pace to finish as the third seed in the Western Conference standings worst-case scenario. There’s a very real chance that they end up as the second seed, however.
The big question for this team is whether or not their regular-season success will be translated to the postseason. If so, there’s no question that this team will have the chance to make a deep playoff run.
