NBA Rumors: According to a recent report, Jalen Brunson will be one of the top priorities for the New York Knicks this offseason.
Taking a step back this season was not ideal for the New York Knicks as a franchise. This will end up being one of their most disappointing seasons as of late, especially considering that they entered this season with a level of expectation.
Ultimately, the Knicks will likely miss the playoffs and won’t even qualify for the Play-In Tournament in the Eastern Conference. This season will end up being an utter disappointment.
Heading into the offseason, it wouldn’t be surprising if the Knicks made some big changes to their roster. Or, at the very least, tried to make some big changes to their roster. At the very least, there should be conversations about potential changes and upgrades.
According to a recent report, one player that the Knicks could target in free agency as an upgrade is Jalen Brunson, who will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
"[via Bleacher Report]The Knicks have been open to discussing the majority of their roster in varying capacities dating back to the 2021 draft. They are expected to target the point guard market particularly, with Jalen Brunson widely known to be at the top of New York’s wishlist."
The Knicks’ reported interest in Brunson is not exactly breaking news. It was reported before the NBA Trade Deadline that New York liked him. The fact that he could be a priority this offseason is particularly interesting.
The Knicks have to make some upgrades to their roster t his offseason, there’s no question about that. Question is, would a move for Brunson be big enough of an upgrade to tangibly move the needle for the team?
