Kyrie Irving will re-sign in Brooklyn

There has been a ton of noise surrounding the Kyrie Irving and Brooklyn Nets situation and this will certainly be a big week regarding his future with the team. However, I can’t really envision a scenario in which the Nets don’t wise up and give him his max extension.

Ultimately, this is what I think will happen: Kevin Durant will go into the offices of the decision-makers of the front office and say “if Kyrie is gone then I am.” And it will be that simple before the Nets are forced to give Kyrie his money and years.

Even though the idea of trading Kyrie sounds mighty intriguing for the Nets, especially after everything that transpired this past season, there’s no way the franchise can let this era end that ceremoniously. The Nets need Durant and, for now, that means Kyrie too.
