4. Miami Heat
Potential tradable assets: Tyler Herro, Kyle Lowry, Max Strus, Duncan Robinson, Omer Yurtseven, Gabe Vincent, Victor Oladipo, Nikola Jovic, multiple first-round picks, pick swaps
The only reason why the Miami Heat is even on this list, or even this high, is due to the fact that he was reportedly on Kevin Durant’s list of preferred destinations. Even though the Heat has solid assets on their roster, they’re not on par with the rest of the suitors.
Tyler Herro is a blue-chip asset but he still has plenty to prove. He’s a budding star but still needs to make that final leap to truly be a difference-maker when it comes to trade negotiations. Kyle Lowry is still a good player, but is clearly past his prime and would make little sense for a retooling team that already has Ben Simmons on the roster.
What really hurts the Heat the most is the fact that they can’t include Bam Adebayo in any deal unless the Nets are trading Simmons because of the CBA. I that rule didn’t exist, I’d really be interesting to see whether the Heat would make that offer or not.
It’s unlikely that Durant makes his way to the Heat without a third team truly helping Miami make this deal happen.
