NBA Trade Rumors: According to a recent report, Donovan Mitchell is unlikely to demand a trade from the Utah Jazz this offseason.

As the NBA world continues to wait for a possible resolution between Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets, there is one situation out West worth keeping an eye on – and that’s what’s happening in Utah with Donovan Mitchell at the center of it all.

The Jazz recently made a move that could resemble the start of a rebuild – even though they’ve already denied that – when they traded Rudy Gobert to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Nevertheless, as expected, it’s been reported that many teams around the league have called on the availability of Mitchell.

At least for now, the Jazz has held off on placing Mitchell on the trade block. And it remains unlikely that will change unless, of course, Mitchell forces Utah to move him. In other words, a trade demand.

However, according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, it doesn’t appear that Mitchell will push for a trade. Or, at least not right now.

This is an interesting scenario to keep an eye on. Even though Mitchell demanding a trade is what many expect to happen sooner or later, I’m not so sure he won’t want to wait a bit and see what the Jazz has up its sleeve.

After the Gobert trade, the Jazz will have plenty of assets to possibly build around Mitchell. Of course, they would have to use them wisely – and, perhaps most importantly, quickly.

I’m sure Mitchell wants to win, just like nearly every other star in the league. The question is, does he want to win in Utah – or, does he believe he can win in Utah?

It’s a question that he’ll have to figure out soon. But, until then, it seems like he’s perfectly fine with waiting his situation out. And it’s probably best for him to wait out the Durant situation anyways.
