Listen, the Washington Wizards are not in a good place. They essentially sold out this offseason and sold their soul to Bradley Beal. He is on a supermax extension, has a no-trade clause, and his contract comes with a 15 percent trade kicker.

Nevertheless, what’s done is done. And if the Wizards went all-in for Beal, they shouldn’t be afraid to go all-in on a player like Kyrie Irving. What’s the worst that can happen? It all doesn’t work this season and they let him walk after the season?

The Wizards’ ceiling is not high at all with their current roster. I’m not saying that adding Kyrie would significantly raise their ceiling, but he would add intrigue to this team and add an element that they don’t currently have.

At this point, the Wizards should worry about the potential fallout that could happen. This team’s future may already be in jeopardy with this current core.
