John Collins to the Miami Heat

For better or worse, the Miami Heat went all-in on making a big splash this offseason, and didn’t exactly pay off. Instead, the Heat lost one of their key players from last season, P.J. Tucker, to a conference rival and don’t have any money left to spend.

However, one player that would make sense schematically who the team could target via the trade market is John Collins. The Atlanta Hawks have been attempting to trade him all offseason, according to reports, but for one reason or another haven’t found the perfect landing spot for him.

The Heat could emerge as a possibility. Miami could offer Duncan Robinson, an elite shooter, one of their young pieces, such as Max Strus or Gabe Vincent, and a future unprotected first-round pick for the big man.

Miami could slide Collins in the starting lineup next to Bam Adebayo and could unlock an element that the team simply hasn’t had at the power forward position in a very long time.
