NBA Trade Rumors: According to a recent report, it doesn’t seem as if the Golden State Warriors are serious about pursuing a trade for Kevin Durant.

As long as the Kevin Durant trade saga remains unresolved, there will also be the opportunity for a dark horse team to come out of left field to make a blockbuster move. Especially considering the Phoenix Suns have dropped out (after matching the Deandre Ayton offer sheet) and that the Miami Heat don’t seem to have the necessary assets to get a deal done.

One team that was whispered earlier this offseason that could emerge as a threat to pursue Durant was the Golden State Warriors.

Theoretically, the Warriors make a ton of sense. They are a contender, have the young assets to offer an appealing package, and have a past with Durant. Although, recent reporting suggests that the Warriors, at least at this point, aren’t that serious.

"[via Bleacher Report]Despite the apparent openness—both from Warriors veterans and Durant himself—regarding a superstar reunion in the Bay, Golden State has not been categorized as a team that’s made serious overtures to pry Durant from Barclays Center."

Of course, this is for now. A lot can change between now and when Durant is ultimately traded if that’s something that actually happens. There is serious doubt that the Brooklyn Nets will actually trade Durant and Kyrie Irving.

For now, it seems that Durant’s trade market is at a bit of a standstill. And with no all-out bidding war, this would be the perfect time for a team such as the Warriors to step in and steal Durant from other suitors.

The Warriors don’t appear to have an interest in doing that. And how could you blame them? The Warriors just won the NBA title and aren’t desperate to make a big move that would likely gut the roster for Durant, who will soon be 34 years old.

Golden State has a good thing going right now and, this time around, they may not need Durant.
