NBA Trade Rumors: According to recent reports, the Miami Heat have internally discussed the idea of trading Bam Adebayo for a superstar.

The Miami Heat entered the offseason in hopes of landing a big star. However, one thing has become abundantly clear in the Heat’s search for a superstar – they neither have the draft capital or blue chip prospect to acquire one.

At least that seems to be the case in their pursuits of Kevin Durant and Donovan Mitchell. Unless, of course, they’d be open to trading Bam Adebayo. If Bam was on the table, it would drastically change their pursuits of a superstar.

Though, the perception had been that Bam is not on the table and that he was considered an untouchable when it comes to Heat trade talks. Interestingly enough, perhaps the Heat is moving off that position.

According to a recent report, the Heat have internally discussed the possibility of trading Bam. But, at least according to the reporting, it appears that not everyone in the front office would be on board with that decision.

That means, considering how this organization works, it’s likely not to come to fruition.

Bam is the Heat’s 25-year-old sensation and appears to be the future of the franchise. Though, what has become clear this offseason, if the Heat is going to Jimmy Butler’s prime years, that might mean trading Bam.

Jimmy Butler will be 33 years old by the time this next season starts and doesn’t have many peak years remaining, you’d imagine. If Miami is looking to add a second superstar next to him, Bam is clearly the team’s best chance at doing that.

Bam may end up being a superstar in the future, but he’s yet to make the jump and there’s no certainty he will.

It’s at the very least something for the Heat to think about. And either way, a decision will have to be made. And if they decide to maximize Jimmy’s build, it may come at the cost of Bam.
