NBA Rumors: Despite trade noise, Jaylen Brown reportedly wants to remain a member of the Boston Celtics.

Earlier this week, a bombshell was dropped when it was reported that the Boston Celtics had offered Jaylen Brown as part of a trade offer to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Kevin Durant. The Nets countered an offer that was reportedly declined by the Celtics.

To top this all off, these trade discussions reportedly took place weeks ago. However, at least initially, Brown, as you would expect, was not too fond of it all. He took to Twitter for a response that doesn’t exactly take a decoder to crack the message.

Brown was not a fan of the report, but reportedly that hasn’t changed his stance on what he thinks about the Celtics.

According to a recent report, Brown very much still wants to be a member of the Celtics. This is not exactly surprising per se, but in the new NBA, it’s easy to see how a relationship between a player and a team can change on a dime.

At this point, why would Brown want a change of scenery? The Celtics have a great thing going and Brown has been a big part of that. He was the team’s leading scorer in the NBA Finals and one of the team’s most consistent players during their deep postseason run.

He’s just about to turn 26 and could very well still have his best basketball still in front of him. And so could this version of the Celtics, who just added Malcolm Brogdon and Danilo Gallinari during the offseason.

The Celtics will head into this season as one of the favorites to win the championship. They fell two games short of doing so this past season and added two key contributors to the roster. It’s hard to think that Boston won’t be in the mix again in the Eastern Conference.

And from all indications, it appears that Brown very much wants to be a part of that. Of course, that’s out of his hands. Now, it’s up to the front office to make that conclusion.
