Golden State Warriors could shake the NBA with a Kevin Durant trade
Kevin Durant’s preferred destinations
Kevin Durant wants to play in Phoenix with Devin Booker and Chris Paul, but at what cost? Yes, the Suns will have two dominant scorers in Booker and Durant but what they would lose would be a lot of young assets and a core that makes them contenders today without Durant.
Plus, it really isn’t that plausible anymore after the Suns matched Deandre Ayton’s offer sheet. Ayton can’t be traded until mid-January and he has a no-trade clause for one season.
Now with the Heat trade, the Nets and Heat have some limits on what can actually be done. With Bam Adeybo and Ben Simmons currently on rookie extensions, it is not possible for both Bam and Simmons to be traded to the same team according to CBA rules. So, what is there left for the Heat to trade?
Well, there’s Tyler Hero, but besides him and Bam, the Heat doesn’t have much to offer outside Jimmy Butler, who I am sure Kevin Durant wanted to play with. That’s why the Heat was probably named one of his top destinations.
Unless Kyle Lowry is involved in the deal, it would be hard for them to match KD’s $44 million he is owed on his contract. If the Nets are rebuilding, I don’t think they intend to take on a Kyle lowry contract.
