Notable moves: Drafted Paolo Banchero

The Orlando Magic are another team that won big in the 2022 NBA Draft and went off the board by taking Paolo Banchero with the No. 1 overall pick. When everyone expected the Magic to take Jabari Smith, the Magic changed last minute and went with Banchero.

And during the NBA’s Summer League, Banchero looked impressive in stints. He may not have been the best player through and through, but he did have his bright moments with Orlando. He has the potential to be the face of the franchise and develop into a superstar.

The Magic may still take a few years to develop but this team’s future isn’t as bleak as it seemed just one year ago. Dare I say, Orlando may be one of the most exciting teams to watch this next season.
