Kevin Love, Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cleveland Cavaliers, for the better part of last season, emerged as one of the biggest surprises in the Eastern Conference. They somewhat fizzled out toward the end of the year, but are heading into this season with some expectations. Perhaps this team could be a playoff team this year?

However, in the event that the Cavs get off to a slow start, there is a scenario in which they elect to shop Kevin Love once again. If Cleveland gets a sense that they’re not close to making a legit push for the playoffs, why not shop Love?

Love will now be an expiring contract and there’s a greater chance that perhaps he’s ready to play for a title contender. In the offseason, if a contender throws him a great chance at winning a title, would he really lose sleep over not re-signing with Cleveland? I wouldn’t think so.
