Is there really a better option out there for Kevin Durant?

When we really think about it, I’m not sure there’s really a better option out there for Kevin Durant to win a title than the Brooklyn Nets. Let’s take a look at it.

The Phoenix Suns can’t land Durant without trading Devin Booker or Chris Paul. Cross them out. The Miami Heat can’t land Durant without trading Bam Adebayo elsewhere. Would a duo of Jimmy Butler and Durant be enough? Unlikely.

The Toronto Raptors’ depth would be gutted and they’d have to lose Scottie Barnes. The Boston Celtics would also be gutted and would essentially be left with Jayson Tatum and Durant. That may be better than Milwaukee, but there’s no guarantee.

Looking objectively, the Nets may give Durant the best shot at winning a title this season. If they’re healthy and engaged, they’ll be able to compete with any other team in the East.’

So, perhaps it would be in Kevin Durant’s best interest to play one more season with the Brooklyn Nets. We’ll see if he gets to that conclusion.
