Have the Golden State Warriors’ original big 3 reached the end of the road together?
This is a valid question that should be getting more run in the national media. Even though in a perfect world, the Golden State Warriors would want to keep their original big three of Klay Thompson, Stephen Curry, and Draymond Green together, their time could be coming to an end sooner rather than later.
This is the reality for the Warriors: Thompson has two years remaining on his current deal and Draymond has essentially one. It’s already been reported that Draymond is seeking a max extension and Thompson will likely be looking to do the same next offseason.
With the other young rising stars on the team, something will have to give for the Warriors. Golden State can’t pay their original big 3 (and they’ll be seeking max deals) AND still retain their young, blossoming talent.
The Warriors need to decide between their original big 3 and some of their rising stars. And, for better or worse, it perhaps may be time for the Warriors to move on from either Draymond or Klay. Especially if they maintain that they want max money.
