As the 2022-23 NBA schedule begins to leak, it has been reported that the Memphis Grizzlies and Golden State Warriors will face off on Christmas Day.

With the full 2022-23 NBA schedule set to be released at some point next week, the next few days will likely include several leaks. And over the past two days, some of those leaks have included an opening night matchup and now two Christmas Day games.

According to a recent report, Shams Charania reported that the Los Angeles Lakers are expected to start the season on the road against the Golden State Warriors on opening night. It was also reported that, at least for now, the Lakers are set to play the Dallas Mavericks in one of the five expected Christmas Day games.

Additionally, it’s been leaked that the Memphis Grizzlies are getting a Christmas Day game for the first time in franchise history as they are slated to play the Warriors on December 25. It will be a rematch of what was one of the most entertaining matchups in the playoffs.

The Warriors and Grizzlies met in the second round of the playoffs and even though it was cut short in large part due to an injury to Ja Morant, it did set the scene for a possible rematch in next year’s postseason.

It was a battle of the old kids on the block vs. the new ones. And, at least this time around, the old kids won en route to winning the entire championship.

Though, the Grizzlies made it clear that they are next and will be a force to handle in the Western Conference for years to come.

And we’ll get the next chapter of that rivalry on Christmas Day with the national spotlight on them.
