What will the fallout be from the Kevin Durant situation in Brooklyn?
Listen, the Brooklyn Nets should be jumping for joy that Kevin Durant has somehow moved off his trade demand and that he will be back suiting up for the Nets, but I can’t help but think of what repercussions will come because of this summer.
I like how we’re supposed to enter the offseason and name the Nets contenders in the Eastern Conference as if we didn’t just see Durant try to burn this franchise down from the inside-out. Let’s remember how this offseason started for the Nets – it all but appeared as if both Kyrie Irving and Durant were going to be traded.
It somehow got even worse when Durant gave the team the ultimatum of either firing the head coach (Steve Nash) and the general manager (Sean Marks) or trading him. Ultimately, cooler heads prevailed but that’s going to be one awkward scene when camp opens.
What kind of fallout could we expect this season in Brooklyn? Perhaps we’ll find out if this team gets off to a shaky start.
