The Cleveland Cavaliers have gone all-in on the season and you have to love it
This has been an offseason where we’ve seen multiple teams go all-in on their current cores. They’re not the teams you would’ve predicted before the season, but you have to appreciate it. The Minnesota Timberwolves went all-in with the acquisition of Rudy Gobert and now the Cleveland Cavaliers have done so with Donovan Mitchell.
You have to credit the Cavs for believing in their build and topping it off with the move for Mitchell. This is what the team has been building toward and they felt this was the move that could potentially deliver some big success for them in the future.
What I love most about the move for Mitchell is the fact that he can still take leaps as a player. He’s already arguably a superstar in the league and can still improve as a player. And the Cavs are a great place for him to do it – he won’t have the pressure of doing it all and will have other young, talented stars to lean on.
I’m not sure if the move will pay off as soon as this season, but the immediate future for the Cavs certainly rose with this acquisition.
