Minnesota Timberwolves

Much like the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Minnesota Timberwolves are another unlikely team that decided it was time to go all-in. The Wolves did that by acquiring Rudy Gobert from the Minnesota Timberwolves early on during the offseason. Minnesota will now head into the 2022-23 NBA season with some lofty expectations.

And they will be in a position where they could live up to them. The Wolves will be looking to take another step forward in the Western Conference with a core of Anthony Edwards, Karl-Anthony Towns, D’ Angelo Russell, and Gobert.

At least on paper, the expectation is that the Wolves should be improved. And Gobert will help their defense, which was arguably one of their biggest weaknesses last season.

I think the key for the Wolves heading to this season will revolve around the fit between Towns and Gobert. If it works, it could pay huge dividends.
