30 in 30: Can Luka Doncic, Dallas Mavericks overcome a ‘bad’ offseason?

The Dallas Mavericks’ lack of depth will test Luka Doncic’s greatness

Once again, for better or worse, it seems the Dallas Mavericks are going to test Luka Doncic’s greatness. If the Mavs are going to have a level of success close to last season, they’re going to need Luka to be the best version of himself. Or even better.

They’re going to need an MVP-type season from Luka along with making his teammates better. And Luka is so great that he may be able to pull it off. Every time he’s been tested in the league, he’s responded in a big way. The Mavs have not been able to surround him with a legit second star, and that hasn’t been much of a problem for Luka.

He still manages to lead the Mavs to the postseason and, most recently, helped them get to the conference finals this past season.

I’m not sure what to expect from the Mavs this season, other than the fact that they’re probably only going to go as far as Luka Doncic will take them.
