NBA: 1 Breakout candidate for every team heading into 2022-23

Brooklyn Nets – Cam Thomas

The Brooklyn Nets are going to be an interesting team to follow all around this season but Cam Thomas is a player that could emerge for them in a bigger role than last season. He didn’t play much for the Nets last season, but when he did he wasn’t afraid to make things happen.

That could potentially lead to more opportunities this season.

Charlotte Hornets  – LaMelo Ball

You can make an argument that LaMelo Ball has already broken out as a player but he’s still viewed as somewhat of a gimmicky player. If he can bring some legitimacy to the Charlotte Hornets this season, some of that will change.

And perhaps he can be viewed as a legit star.
