18. New York Knicks

The New York Knicks may have missed on Donovan Mitchell, but their offseason was far from a failure. New York managed to sign Jalen Brunson away from the Dallas Mavericks in free agency and that could prove to be the move of the summer.

It’ll be interesting to see how seamless of a transition there is for Brunson in New York but the ultimate test on how much improved the Knicks will likely fall on the shoulders of their young players. Specifically RJ Barrett.

If Barrett can continue to develop as he has through the first few seasons of his career, the Knicks could be a dark horse threat in the East. Though, I think it’s probably best to temper expectations for a team that’s still building.
