After making a run to the NBA Finals last season, an argument can be made that what was most impressive was the fact that they didn’t elect to stand pat this offseason. Instead, they remained aggressive and acquired Malcolm Brogdon from the Indiana Pacers. They also added Danilo Gallinari via free agency, but he’s expected to miss the season with an injury.

Robert Williams may also miss the start of the regular season and head coach Ime Udoka has been suspended for the year. The last few weeks for the Celtics have been pretty concerning.

With Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, the Celtics are still expected to be really good this season. And they have one of the deeper supporting casts in the league, even more so with the addition of Brogdon (if he can remain healthy).

But there is still some proving that the Celtics will need to do this season. Replicating the success from last season will be vital to be viewed objectively as the favorite that many analysts believe they will be.
