Kristaps Porzingis’ importance to the Washington Wizards

At last year’s NBA Trade Deadline, the Washington Wizards and Dallas Mavericks made an interesting swap in which many believed they were essentially trading one problem for another. However, the hope this season is that Kristaps Porzingis will be much more than just an afterthought of a trade for the Wizards.

Kristaps could play a huge role in the Wizards’ success this season. During 17 games played (after he was acquired), Kristaps showed some promise with the Wizards. He averaged 22 points and nine rebounds on 48 percent shooting from the field and 37 percent shooting from 3-point range.

Although, producing has never been a big problem for Kristaps. It’s been staying healthy. And if he’s going to be that reliable second option next to Bradley Beal this season, with Washington will need if they’re going to make a push for the postseason, he’ll need to prove he can remain healthy.
