This will be Draymond Green’s final season with the Golden State Warriors

Heading into what will likely be the final year of his current contract (he has a player option for the 2023-24 NBA season), I firmly believe that this will end up being Draymond Green’s final season as a member of the Golden State Warriors. He will either leave in free agency or will be traded during the offseason.

It’s already been reported that Draymond would be willing to leave the Warriors if it meant he gets the max extension that he believes he deserves and he’s at the point in his career where it would make sense for him to get one more big contract. Because of how clogged Golden State’s salary cap sheet is, there are some questions about the Warriors offering him the max extension that he is seeking.

I just believe the perfect storm is going to develop this offseason and the Warriors are going to choose to pay some of their younger players – perhaps Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole – over Draymond.

If it indeed is Draymond’s final season in Golden State, it will surely be a memorable one.
