Predicting when the Los Angeles Lakers will win their first game of the 2022-23 NBA season.

The Los Angeles Lakers are 0-5 to start the year and are developing some serious issues that could end up derailing their season. They are the worst shooting team in the league and have statistically the worst offense in the league. The good news is that their defense has been fairly good. But that hasn’t gotten them far so far this year.

In fact, the Lakers haven’t even won a game this season. The big question for the team heading into the second or third week of the season is when that will come. The Lakers will eventually win, but let’s try to predict when that will happen.

Looking at the Los Angeles Lakers’ upcoming schedule

In hopes of not getting lost in the playoff picture, the hope is that the Lakers can begin winning soon. As they always say, the first one is always the most difficult.

The Lakers close the week with the Denver Nuggets Sunday. As optimistic as I want to be, I don’t think the Lakers’ first win will come against the Nuggets. Even less so if Anthony Davis is going to miss another game due to injury.

They continue a three-game homestand with contests against the New Orleans Pelicans, Utah Jazz, and Cleveland Cavaliers. I think this is where the losing streak ends, at some point this week.

A win could come against the Pelicans, depending on who will be available for that game. Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson have missed games recently due to injuries.

But there should be no excuse for not winning at home against the Jazz. For as good as Utah has played to start the season, the Lakers should win that game to get off the schneid.

It can’t be argued; the Lakers have gotten off to a putrid start. But it’s still early and there is room to turn their season around. Even though this article was written a bit in a sarcastic tone, the Lakers have some serious issues to figure out on their own. Quite frankly, it won’t be easy for them. Especially looking at how competitive the Western Conference has looked so far this season.

The Lakers will eventually win. And the hope is that once they do, they can start tearing off a few wins together and make up some ground in the West.
