Brooklyn Nets

Through the first five games of the season, the Brooklyn Nets are 1-4. I’m not sure that’s something that anyone was expecting from a team this talented before the start of the season. Nevertheless, the Nets have more often than not looked like a bad team than a good one. And you can’t help but wonder if this has anything to do with their dysfunctional offseason.

For a moment this offseason, it seemed as if both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant were gone. Then, they weren’t. For a moment, it seemed as if KD wanted head coach Steven Nash fired. Then, he didn’t. Who knows what exactly took place this offseason for the Nets? One thing is for sure, the team is drastically underwhelming so far this season.

Ben Simmons doesn’t look like Ben Simmons and KD and Kyrie are great but can’t do it alone. The Nets have one of the worst scoring benches in the league and the worst defense in the league. If Brooklyn is going to turn their season around, I’m not sure where the answers are going to come from.
