NBA: 5 scariest early-season trends from big-name stars
Chris Paul’s historically bad offensive start
At the age of 37, you’d expect some sort of regression from Chris Paul at some point. And we could finally be seeing it now. Paul is off to a bad start and is posting some of the worst numbers of his career.
Through five games, Paul is averaging just nine points 33 percent shooting from the field and 29 percent shooting from 3-point range. The good news is that he’s still averaging 10 assists and five rebounds per game. But, it’s become clear, that his efficiency numbers are concerning, to say the least.
Thankfully, Paul’s slow start to the season has affected the Suns all that much. Despite Paul’s struggles, the Suns are still 4-1. Most of that is due to the extremely impressive start to the season by Devin Booker. Either way, it has bought Paul some time to snap out of this funk he finds himself in. It’ll be interesting to see how the next few weeks go for him individually.
