NBA Trade Rumors: Jarred Vanderbilt could be on the Miami Heat’s deadline wishlist.

Over the next few weeks, the Miami Heat are likely going to pop up as the NBA’s trade rumor mill picks up. The Heat has gotten off to a shaky 2-5 start to the season and has the look of a team that desperately needs some changes to the roster.

Dating back to the offseason, the Heat has been linked to a few players that they could target via trade. A couple of the names that have popped up linked to the Heat recently are Jae Crowder and Mo Bamba, but nothing of substance has come together. Though, that could change if the Heat continues to struggle to get in the win column.

According to a recent report, one player that is additionally on the Heat’s radar is Jarred Vanderbilt. Vanderbilt was traded to the Utah Jazz as a part of the Rudy Gobert blockbuster deal during the offseason.

The Utah Jazz may not want to trade Jarred Vanderbilt

It may not even matter that Vanderbilt may be on the Heat’s wishlist. There’s a good chance that the Jazz may not be willing to trade Vanderbilt. He’s started every game for the Jazz so far this season and is averaging a solid eight points and nine rebounds per game on 55 percent shooting from the field and 43 percent shooting from 3-point range.

Vanderbilt is only 23 years old and may just be scratching the surface of the player that he could be. And that may be something that the Wolves would not want to punt on this early in the experiment. If anything, he’s the exact type of player that Utah should strive to keep on their roster as they begin their rebuild.

He still has an additional year on his contract after this season and wouldn’t have to negotiate with him until then. So even though he’s a player that, likely, multiple teams will be interested in heading into the trade deadline, there’s also no guarantee that the Jazz will want to move on from him.

Nevertheless, he’s certainly a player to keep an eye on heading into the NBA trade season. Especially for a team like the Heat who almost seem desperate, because of their slow start to the year, to make a deal.
