P.J. Washington, Charlotte Hornets

If the Cleveland Cavaliers are looking to add some scoring to their frontcourt, P.J. Washington in Charlotte could be an option. He may be a cheaper option than say a Gordon Hayward – Washington is slated to be a free agent after the season, while Hayward is under contract for next year.

Either way, Washington could be an option. Though, considering the team’s draft pick situation, it will likely cost one of their young prospects. For what the Cavs are trying to accomplish, I’d make an argument that it may be worth it for a player like Washington.

Washington is averaging 16 points and five rebounds per game on 43 percent shooting from the field and 35 percent from 3-point range. He’s also a young player that is still developing and could continue to blossom alongside Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland.

Washington may seem like a pipe dream but it may be in the best interest of the Hornets to trade him at the deadline.
