Five moves that the Miami Heat should think about making that would successfully trigger a soft reason in what seems like a lost season for the franchise.

If it’s not clear by now, it will be soon. This is looking more and more like a lost season for the Miami Heat. Miami has no identity, no fight, and has shown no real upside so far this season. Even if they can somehow right the ship, there’s no way the Heat has enough firepower to keep up with the likes of the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks in the Eastern Conference.

Just when it feels like the Heat takes a tangible step forward, they turn around and take two steps back. Twenty-some-odd games into the season, the Heat is what it is. They’re old, have little-to-no ambition, and have a feel of a team that is ready to move on from each other.

In short, it’s time for some big changes in Miami.

The Miami Heat is not going to trigger a full rebuild

Let’s be honest, the Heat is not going to blow up their roster. Even though you can make an argument that it’s probably what they should do, this franchise has too much pride to do that and they haven’t really done that in its history. But this franchise could trigger a soft reset. It’s something that is somewhat doable and something that should be discussed ahead of the NBA Trade Deadline.

If Miami is serious about righting this ship and giving the Jimmy Butler build another shot at winning a title, this is something that needs to be done. Let’s explore a few moves that would help accomplish that for the Heat.
