Buddy Hield, Indiana Pacers

In what could be viewed as one of the more likely scenarios for the Los Angeles Lakers heading into the NBA Trade Deadline, acquiring Buddy Hield for one future first-round pick (and salary filler) is something that the team should be interested in. Hield may not be the star that will get Lakers fans excited but he has more than enough talent to get the job done.

In his first full season with the Indiana Pacers, Hield is averaging 18 points, five rebounds, and three assists per game on 44 percent shooting from the field and 38 percent shooting from 3-point range. He would also the bell as the shooter that the Lakers need and can also score in ways that aren’t restricted to standing at the 3-point line.

With how the Lakers have recovered over the last few weeks, you can make an argument that the addition of Hield alone would make a real difference. The big question, of course, is whether this roster (with Hield) is one that can make a deep playoff run in the West.

Quite frankly, I’m not so sure.
