Zion Williamson’s leadership

The doubters refused to trust Zion Williamson and his potential because of his injury history and weight. In the offseason, Williamson signed a max extension worth $193 million, which could rise to $231 million. Even though he has played little for the Pelicans, he is happy in New Orleans, and his teammates and the organization are ecstatic to have him.

On December 10th, the Pelicans took revenge on the Suns after losing last year in the first round of the playoffs. Williamson dropped 35 points, seven rebounds, and four assists, and the Pels came out with a win. At the end of the game, Williamson got the ball, drove to the basket, and administered a ferocious windmill dunk that set the sports world on fire.

Usually, players will hold the ball if the game is out of reach for the other team, but Williamson thought otherwise saying,

"“That was a little out of character to me, but you gotta understand. You can understand it or not,” Williamson said after the game. “They sent my teammates home last year. I missed all last year. I got carried away a little bit. I’ll admit that. “"

The Pelicans beat the suns two days later in overtime, where Williamson continued his dominance, dropping 35 points.
