NBA Trade Rumors: The expectation around the league is that Alex Caruso will be a popular target at the NBA Trade Deadline.
The Chicago Bulls may have won two games in a row, but this is still a team with major flaws, and it’s unlikely that all has been settled inside that locker room. There are still plenty of questions that need to be answered and one of the biggest revolves around how this team will approach the NBA Trade Deadline.
But while everyone seems to be focused on the possible availability of DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine leading up to the NBA Trade Deadline, there is one other player on the roster that could perhaps be a popular target over the course of the next few weeks.
And that player is Alex Caruso. According to a recent report, he’s a player that many teams around the league are already keeping tabs on.
Will the Chicago Bulls trade Alex Caruso?
The big question heading into the NBA Trade Deadline is whether or not the Bulls will get to a place where they’re going to trade (or be willing to trade) some of their veteran players on the roster. The whispers that are emerging from Chicago are that things are not great. That shouldn’t come as a surprise since that’s what constant losing does to a veteran roster.
All that said, that doesn’t mean the Bulls are going to jump the gun and be sellers at the NBA Trade Deadline. Deep down, you know the Bulls would likely want to wait out the situation to see how it really looks once Lonzo Ball returns. They may not have that luxury before the trade deadline, however. And that could force their hand to make a decision.
Caruso is a player that should be watched. Not just the likes of DeRozan and LaVine. Caruso still has two years left on his contract after this season but is more of a supporting player and his value dwindles on the Bulls as long as the losing is sustained.
If Chicago wanted to retool the roster between now and next season, but also didn’t want to blow it up by trading DeRozan or LaVine, Caruso could be a player that they decide to move first. And he’d have tremendous value for any contending team that needs depth in the backcourt.
