NBA Trade Rumors: John Collins sweepstakes down to these 4 teams?

NBA Trade Rumors: As we inch closer and closer to the NBA Trade Deadline, a flurry of teams are pursuing trade talks for John Collins.

It’s officially NBA Trade Deadline season and it hasn’t been disappointing thus far. Whether or not this year will feature a busy and chaotic deadline day remains to be seen. But, if I was a betting man, I’d lean toward a few fireworks taking place in the weeks and days leading up to the deadline.

One player that has found himself in the midst of the deadline whispers is Atlanta Hawks forward John Collins. And I’d have to believe that will continue to be the case over the next few weeks, likely until he is moved.

And according to a recent report, there’s a long list of suitors for Collins. Of the teams that have expressed interest in the all-star talent forward, the Utah Jazz, Brooklyn Nets, Indiana Pacers, and Washington Wizards are four teams that have been named.

Whether or not he is eventually traded to any of those teams remains to be seen. Though, it’s looking more and more likely that he will be moved by this year’s NBA Trade Deadline.

And considering all the noise that is currently surrounding the Hawks, it’s probably in the best interest of both sides for a deal to get done. The Hawks need some retooling and perhaps a new identity. Collins could use a fresh start as it seems his time with the Hawks has gotten somewhat stale.

From an outside perspective, it will be interesting to see what the Hawks ultimately get in return for Collins. I’m not exactly sure what the asking price would be, and it hasn’t been concretely reported, but you’d have to imagine that it would be somewhat high.

Despite Collins’ recent struggles, he’s still just 25 years old and was a player that averaged 22 points and 10 rebounds per game. I don’t think that player is completely gone. His role has just changed with the Hawks.

It’s a good bet that Collins is moved ahead of the NBA Trade Deadline. It’s now a matter of where he’ll get moved and not if.
