NBA Trade Rumors: The New York Knicks appear to be serious about moving on from Cam Reddish at the NBA Trade Deadline.

With the way the New York Knicks have played over the last few weeks, I would be shocked if they didn’t try to make a move at the NBA Trade Deadline in an attempt to improve the roster before the push toward the playoffs.

However, there are also small other moves the Knicks could pursue at the deadline in an attempt to thin out some of their roster. One specifically revolves around Cam Reddish, who has not been a fit on the team since he was acquired from the Atlanta Hawks at least year’s NBA Trade Deadline.

Reddish is slated for restricted free agency this offseason and the Knicks appear to be looking to move him at the deadline. And according to one report, the asking price for Reddish is not that high. With the NBA Trade Deadline closing in, the Knicks are reportedly seeking two second-round picks in exchange for Reddish.

Assuming that report is accurate, that leads me to believe that Knicks really, really want to move on from Reddish before the trade deadline.

Cam Reddish should be considered a near-lock to be traded at the deadline

Of the players that the Knicks could end up moving at the deadline, I think it’s pretty safe to assume that Reddish is probably going to be a near-lock to be moved. He’s an expiring contract and is unlikely to be re-signed by the team during the offseason.

Add in the low asking price that the Knicks reportedly have and you would assume that there is at least one team that is going to be interested in making a move for Reddish. For as difficult of a start to a career as he’s had, Reddish still has the raw talent that you want in a young player and is still just 23 years old.

He hasn’t really found the right home or organization that supports his development and perhaps there’s still a team out there that would be willing to do that for him in an attempt to untap his potential.

For many teams out there, for the asking price that has reportedly been set, Reddish should be viewed as a low-cost option at the NBA Trade Deadline.
