NBA Trade Rumors: The LA Clippers have been linked to two big-name point guards as we inch closer and closer to the trade deadline.
Despite of their inconsistencies so far this season, most of which could be attributed to their injuries, the LA Clippers are still just a few games out of a top-three seed in the Western Conference. Heading into the push toward the playoffs, the Clippers are not in a terrible spot.
Especially if Kawhi Leonard and Paul George can remain healthy for the remainder of the season. And if they add to that with a big move at the trade deadline and it would not be surprising if the Clippers slowly rounded into the contender that many thought they would be before the start of the season.
In an attempt to upgrade their roster before next month’s trade deadline, the Clippers are now being linked to two-big name veteran point guards – Fred VanVleet and Kyle Lowry. Whether they can strike a deal for either one of them remains to be seen, but it seems as if the Clippers have high hopes heading into the trade deadline.
The LA Clippers appear to be all-in on hitting their stride during the push toward the playoffs
With everything that has been reported surrounding the Clippers heading into the trade deadline, it’s pretty clear that this team is all-in on this season. As they should be. The Clippers handed their future over to Kawhi and PG a few offseasons ago in hopes that it would pay off with an NBA title.
Even though they haven’t gotten that title just yet, this is a team that should still be all-in every season as long as their two stars are healthy. And so far this season is trending in a way that suggests the Clippers could be in a place where they are healthy heading into the postseason.
The big question for the Clippers heading into the deadline revolves around what is the right move for this team. What is the move that will get this team back to a place where they’re in the conversation with other contenders this season?
Is there a move that will get the Clippers back into the place?
If the Clippers are indeed interested in VanVleet and Lowry, it’s clear that the team is looking for a veteran point guard or at least one in the backcourt.
