7. Jakob Poeltl, San Antonio Spurs
Once again, the Spurs have the opportunity to trade another of their more veteran pieces on the roster. Jacob Poeltl is a player that has been extremely productive during the last two seasons in San Antonio. He’s really come to his role as a player and has shown the ability to be a legit starting center in the NBA.
It’s unlikely that will happen with the Spurs. But as I said before, the Spurs can’t take their veteran assets for granted and must make a move if it is in the best interest of the franchise. For as good as Poeltl has been for the Spurs recently, I believe it’s probably in the best interest of San Antonio to trade him.
And there should be a healthy interest in Poeltl at the deadline. Despite the high asking price, I believe the Boston Celtics will make a move for Poeltl.
Prediction: He is traded to the Boston Celtics.
