Fred VanVleet to the Phoenix Suns

I don’t think it’s a surprise that the Phoenix Suns need to make a big move at the NBA Trade Deadline. They need a spark to help them recover in the second half of the season and it would not be fair to expect Devin Booker to just come in and save the day. That’s where the trade deadline could prove to be valuable for a team like Phoenix.

And one player that they could target is Fred VanVleet. A move for VanVleet makes even more sense considering that the team is already reportedly thinking about life after Chris Paul. And it would not be insane to think that the Suns come away from the trade deadline with VanVleet as their new weapon.

The Suns could send a future first-round picks to the Raptors and that may be enough to get it done, depending on what the other offers are for VanVleet. We must remember, he’s an expiring contract after this season and there’s no guarantee he’s going to re-sign in Toronto.

VanVleet could very well be on the move at the deadline and it would make a lot of sense if he wound up in Phoenix.
