NBA Rumors: Did Bradley Beal drop a hint that he could demand a trade away from the Washington Wizards during the offseason?

The Washington Wizards are heading into a pretty big offseason. They have to figure out what life around Bradley Beal is going to look like for the team moving forward. It seems that another retooling is on the way and if not, perhaps a complete rebuild. Either way, the Wizards have some pretty big decisions to make.

However, Beal could throw a huge wrench in everything.

Beal is a player that many around the league have been monitoring. At least to now, he hasn’t given much indication that he’s willing to demand a trade or force the issue. However, especially now that he has good money, perhaps they could change. And if it does, it could change the entire dynamic for the Wizards heading into the offseason.

And some recent comments made by Beal could suggest that he’s at least weighing the option of demanding a trade.

"“I’m patient, but there comes a time where you have to be a little selfish and draw a line in the sand, for sure,” Beal told Marc J. Spears of Andscape."

Interestingly, this is not the first time that Beal has made comments that would open the door for a trade. He did so earlier this season that, at the very least, brought up some interesting dialogue amongst the fan base.

The Washington Wizards shouldn’t be afraid of a Bradley Beal trade demand

If Beal does end up demanding a trade away from the Wizards this offseason, I don’t think it’s an end-of-the-world situation for the Wizards. Washington would likely get a huge haul for Beal and it would help them jumpstart a rebuild.

The Wizards are in a tough position. On one hand, they don’t want to trade Beal and it’s easy to see why. He’s a really good player and it would be difficult for the Wizards to readily replace him.

On the other hand, we also have to understand that this current core hasn’t been able to move the need much, if at all, for the Wizards in the Eastern Conference. It may very well be time for a rebuild. And perhaps the Wizards know that, but maybe they want Beal to make the first move on that front.

The Wizards have some big decisions to make this offseason but, in a way, Beal could make things a lot easier if he did demand a trade.
