Best team fit: San Antonio Spurs

As the unanimous No. 1 overall pick, Victor Wembanyama is the prospect that every team in the lottery will be hoping to get their hands on. However, there’s only going to be one franchise that will win the lottery. While we are still a couple of months from figuring out which franchise that will end up being, I believe there’s one that would be a great landing spot for the generational talent.

And that’s the San Antonio Spurs. For one, the Spurs have a strong history of developing international players, most notably with Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker. Gregg Popovich is also one of the best coaches, if not the best, in the NBA right now. He would be a great mentor for Victor to have on his side as he makes the move to the NBA.

It’s been reported that Victor wants to be the focal point of an offense in the NBA and that’s exactly what he’ll be for the Spurs. San Antonio is looking for the next face of the franchise. The hope is that they cold one in this year’s NBA Draft. Victor seems like the perfect player for what the Spurs need. It just seems like a great pairing.
