Before the season started, the LA Clippers were one of the favorites that many were picking to win the NBA Championship this season. Or, at the very least, be one of the two teams that make it to the Western Conference Finals. From overcoming injuries to retooling their backcourt to embracing load management, the Clippers have been anything but a consistent contender in the West this season.

However, with the star talent that this team has on its roster, it’s feasible to draw the conclusion that the Clippers could emerge as a dangerous dark horse team in the postseason. Especially if they can remain healthy. In the West, at their respective peak, there is maybe one duo that is better than Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. But even that’s debatable.

The Clippers are also one of the deepest teams in the conference. If they can draw the right matchups in the playoffs, this may be the best chance the Clippers have at making a deep run in the playoffs.

The duo of Kawhi and PG was assembled to win championships. So far, that hasn’t happened. Perhaps this is finally the year where the Clippers are able to get close as a more under-the-radar threat.
