4. Charlotte Hornets – Jarace Walker, F, Houston
Now that Houston’s NCAA Tournament run is officially over, Jarace Walker will now focus primarily on the NBA Draft. It would be shocking if he didn’t declare for it at this point. In his final game in a Houston Cougars jersey, Walker finished with 16 points, 11 rebounds, five assists, and four blocks. He struggled with his overall offensive efficiency but proved that he could impact the game on several other fronts.
For a team like the Charlotte Hornets, Walker could be a prospect that makes a lot of sense. He would fill a need for the team and would offer the team another high-ceiling prospect to add next to LaMelo Ball. The Hornets are a team that is in a bit of a transition (especially if the team gains new ownership) and adding another possible face of the franchise would be great for the long run.
Walker would seem like a seamless fit next to Ball and a player that would be able to develop at a good pace in Charlotte. If this is how the top of the draft shakes out, I’d be surprised if the Hornets didn’t roll the dice with Walker.
