Jaylen Brown – trade target

I’m not sure if Jaylen Brown is on this hypothetical list if we run this one week ago, but since then he’s made it, at the very least, a conversation heading into the offseason. I’m still bullish on the fact that he’ll push the agenda of a trade this offseason but his recent comments do make this summer a particularly interesting one for the Boston Celtics. Even more so if the Celtics lose early on in the postseason.

Brown is another one of the NBA’s most underrated two-way players and has proven that he can, at times, carry an offense when the team needs it. He’s eligible for a contract extension this summer and if he declines one, then perhaps the writing will officially be on the wall. In that scenario, would the Celtics trade him?

I think it’s a fair question to ask. If Brown were to be shopped on the trade block, he’d probably be one of the most sought-after players. He’d command a huge return and because of that, I’m not sure how much of a realistic shot the Heat would have at landing him.

Unless, of course, Brown makes it clear he wants to be in Miami. The question is, would he do that?
